Steamboat and Colorado Claim World’s Largest Fireworks Explosion

in Local News

I've been fascinated with fireworks since I was a young boy. My grandpa used to bring some back to Michigan every spring after their winter stay in Florida.

Oh, to have M-80's and Cherry Bombs readily available…such fun!

I can't even imagine a firework shell that is 62 inches in diameter and weighs 2797 lbs…and the first time they tried to launch one it just blew up in the shell before leaving the ground!

But Steamboat Springs and Colorado is now the proud record holder for the world's largest fireworks explosion (Guinness World Records certified).  And of course, a Loveland man was involved…:-).

Wish I would have been there when they touched that one off…:-).
